BMH Forensic Services fees are made on a no savings - no fee basis. Success is largely dependent on the quality of the partnership between you, our client and our team. The more records we can look at, the greater the chance that we can prove that money is owing to you. Please ask us for more details of this service which is growing in demand.

This is a fairly new service for business ratepayers. In many cases, companies will work hard to make sure that their agent has reduced their rating assessment, but they do not check that the money has actually made it to their own bank account. There are many reasons why the money will fail to materialise, the most common ones being a change of address or a change of trading name. You may also receive a statement showing a large credit but you fail to notify the Local Authority where you would like the cheque to be sent to and so they hold on to it! This is a very regular occurrence.

With BMH Forensic Services we work with the Local Authority records and your own bank records to show what amounts were paid and when. The original post and appeal liabilities are then tallied up.

• We ensure that you have the correct certificates to maximise transitional relief or minimise transitional surcharges.
• We ensure that original s44a temporary relief calculations are calculated correctly should a property be split or altered in value.
• We ensure that you do not pay bills from the Local Authority asking for back rates when they have not billed you "as soon as practicable."
• We check that after each of your historic appeals that your neighbours did not receive additional reductions for local changes in your environment
